Wedding Planning Software

I’ll have to admit, I am a bit of a computer geek.  In my opinion, that really isn’t a negative, and it just means that I try to find software solutions for all of my life’s problems.

For example, when my wife and I were planning our wedding, we found the amount of organization that we needed a little overwhelming.  We had papers all over the house and it was hard to keep track of everything.

I tried to create a spreadsheet containing all of the lists that we had made, but my wife to be just didn’t get it.  So, I decided to look online for some sort of wedding planning software to make our lives easier.

After a bit of hunting I found some products that would work and I also bought a wedding guest list manager to help us try to keep track of all the people we needed to invite.

Thanks to the software, our wedding went smoothly - I hate to think what would have happened had we not found the right tools to plan the wedding.

Gifts for My Wedding Party

One of the things I wanted to do when I got married was to give my wedding party something special to remember my special day.  My wife to be had already picked out something for her bridesmaids, and I thought I should do the same for my groomsmen.

Some people would have just let them have the neckties and silver cufflinks that we had ordered especially for the wedding but I thought that was being a little bit cheap.  I wanted to give them something above and beyond what they would get for participating in the wedding.

What I ended up doing was getting each of them a set of engraved cufflinks on which I engraved a special message tailored to each one of them.  Not only were they impressed with the cufflinks, but I felt good about giving them something special that thank them personally for their participation in our wedding ceremony.

Wedding Cake Art

If you haven’t seen a wedding cake in the last few years, you are missing out on some real pieces of art. Some of the cakes made today would be a shame to eat because they are so very beautiful.
I’ve seen everything from tiered cakes that look like castles to cakes with mermaid dolls incorporated with the design. I’m sure the cakes take hours to make because the details are so fine.

My boyfriend’s ex is a cake maker and made a fabulous cake for their son’s birthday. It looked like a large wooden chess board complete with molded chocolate chess pieces. The pawns and king and queen were placed throughout the board and looked just like a game was in progress.  Several people at the party were fooled by this and thought it was a birthday present!

She also makes wonderful wedding cakes, some with life like flowers made of fondant, a type of candied hard frosting that can be molded with some practice. It truly is an art form but it is too bad you can’t keep your cake and eat it in this case.

Wonderful Wedding Limousine

I have been to a few weddings recently, but the only vehicle that the newlyweds drove was their own vehicles decorated up.  For most people, that is okay, but for my wife and I, that is not the route that we took.

You see, we wanted the whole day to be a memorable experience - from the place by the river that we had the ceremony, to the exquisite food that we had at the reception.  We were originally going to use our own car for the wedding festivities, until the thought came to us: what about renting a limousine?

We both agreed that it was a good idea, so we contacted a Philadelphia limousine service, and booked one just a week before the big day.  It was the best choice that we made, as our driving around was luxurious - the perfect start for our marriage.
