PostHeaderIcon Making Addictive Carp Bait For Big Fishing Catches!

by Tim Richardson

When you use carp bait blind without knowing how it works you are using blind faith. In contrast, if you understood far more how and why key aspects of that bait induced bites and had the power to manipulate these potent effect far more then your catches will definitely improve. Read on to find out more…

Bait always involves confidence and indeed many anglers constantly doubt their bait because they do not understand how they truly work, except having very limited and even incorrect ideas or impressions about proteins or flavours; as a result, many anglers are negative about certain baits, without even ever having used them personally! Confidence catches fish for many reasons because it makes you fish better and be sharper and more tuned-in and expectant of success, so you tend to do more things right at the right time, more often, but you can all the confidence in the world and still blank because of a lack of knowledge and understanding! Confidence is the thing that sells commercial readymade baits and anglers take second-hand opinions from so-called big-name anglers thinking they will emulate their success using the same bait, forgetting that many (not all) big-name anglers are the most skilled and talented anglers of their generation.

But why would you need to know anything about bait; maybe you catch your share, maybe you know a range of baits that have worked on your waters previously that you can turn to. Well if you know little about carp vital senses and how to manipulate them to induce more takes you are missing out; big-time and it’s like using putting back on the shelf a flavour with 10 times the potency of anther because the packaging is less flashy, and choosing another flavour that you like the smell of, never realising how much it lacks compared to the other flavour… For instance, many anglers just think flavours are solvent based or natural, or nature-identical and pretty much all the same, but the actual definition of flavours in fishing are extremely diverse and some flavours like chilli compounds even stimulate carp senses more powerfully than usual pulling fish to your swim from ranges many other flavours fail to.

Science is tricky and seemingly irrelevant for many anglers until they realise the enormous significance that chemicals change in solution with water and many substances are simply not the same in water as air, and fish are experiencing different chemicals all over their bodies and not just on the tongue like humans. Imagine garlic on the tongue; it is mixed with air and saliva, but in mixed just water, garlic produces different compounds and the tastes and smells we experience as humans will be different ones that carp experience. This means that the flavours or pungent smells we might imagine impact on the fish may well not be present in the same form at all, and this might mean that something else is triggering a response from carp, even an internal one where something in garlic is acting to produce thermogenic (metabolism and digestion speeding-up effects for example,) and even have very potent antioxidant and antimicrobial impacts etc.

Carp are turned-on by far more than a vanilla or strawberry flavour combination and in fact often these will provide no response at all as they are not true feeding triggers as such, but some bait substances compensate for this by affecting carp in far more profound ways internally! Science is hard right; well I did an easy test on carp baits today by eating wheat-free biscuits and a wheat free doughnut; all done in interests of science and in the best possible taste! Sometimes there are substances used in foods and baits which are naturally there or added deliberately which induce you brain create the sensation of pleasure so you enjoy them more…

On eating the wheat-free foods I did not want to keep eating them and certainly Homer Simpson would have a shock if his doughnuts were wheat-free as there is something internally potent missing in them! Beyond all the flavours, sweeteners, enhancers and other goodies already added to those biscuits and doughnut (I say doughnut as I could only eat one,) something vital was missing. That missing substance that in wheat for example causes the release of feel-good hormones in the wheat-free foods was gone, and I really missed it!

If you apply this to fishing, it is like using a bait with a flavour and sweetener, and fishing next to it a bait with the same ingredients exactly, but with that extra vital brain chemical releasing impact. Which food or bait will catch more fish and which might you go for preferentially?! As it is your brain the makes the decision for your body you may have no choice and you may have noticed that so many people over-eat wheat-based foods and store-up fat as a result despite this being far from a healthy thing to do; it’s natural drug-induced behaviour for sure, even though certain emotions are frequently still involved!

In fact many of the same ingredients are in so many foods that in bulk are definitely harmful to the body, but induce people to buy them. Any carp angler knows that tiger nuts and peanuts for instance also have substances that also lead to this type of behaviour. Whether you term this induced habit-forming or addictive behaviour, it is just as profoundly significant, applicable and powerful when it comes to getting a bait edge over your carp and over other competing baits… This fishing bait secrets ebooks author has many more fishing and bait edges – just one might well impact very significantly on your big fish catches!

PostHeaderIcon Making Homemade Carp Baits That Make You Money!

by Tim Richardson

Today with the recession and ever rising costs, there is no better time to exploit making your own unique fishing baits to take full control and increase your budget-savings, choose your exact ingredients and levels you want to exploit, and to experience the amazing satisfaction of catching new personal best fish (on your very own budget-price, secret homemade baits!) There is far more to exploit than just bait flavours however and the majority of carp anglers when discussing their favourite flavours and readymade bait brands never truly get to appreciate and exploit the proven potential of much less well known carp feeding triggers, ingredients, additves, incitants, enhancers and so on, and continue to accept average catches and miss a gigantic advantage available to everyone with open eyes and ears! So if you want to save a fortune in bait in the coming years and wish to improve you fishing results and be able to leverage homemade bait-making to maximum effect ” read on!

The growing numbers of anglers in the UK and all around the world reflect a movement towards the desire of anglers to take back control over every aspect of their fishing and the desire to understand more complete details about bait and actually how it works in relation to carp diet and senses etc that in the past has been largely ignored by the majority who have been dependant upon readymade baits! When I began carp fishing in the nineteen-seventies everyone made their own baits out of necessity and it really was a challenge to find appropriate and accurate information about what exactly made carp feed and what fulfilled their essential nutritional requirements that you could actually get hold of and use in homemade baits, but all this experience and knowledge has meant our homemade baits can hold their own and even out-fish popular brand readymade boilies. Homemade baits have always if so desired been a tremendously effective economical and unique edge in carp fishing, (being different is vital to constant success of course,) it is very easy to forget that the relatively few truly knowledgeable bait designers with the big bait companies all started out at home in their own kitchens or garden sheds!

Having banked twenty forty pound carp from UK lakes I realise many things have changed about carp fishing in the past 40 years and especially the size of carp now available, but it is very obvious you need to fish the waters with fish of the size you wish to catch ” I know anglers who have very few twenties under their belts because of the limited lakes they fish within a particular region of the country. Your fishing goals are very personal and weight of fish is very irrelevant in many aspects; your personal success can be measured in many ways beyond fish weights and any sponsored angler can sit full-time on any water until they catch all the fish in the lake (i.e. big deal!) It is best to measure your success by setting your own goals and exactly how you aim to achieve them and fulfilling those goals than by comparing just how many thirties or whatever you have caught in a year and catching them on your own homemade unique baits makes all the difference to and gives a far deeper meaning to catch results in my opinion!

Most of us have to compete with bait and tackle-sponsored anglers and having the ability to either top their baits or make your own is a very potent edge in such circumstances! Also the willingness to constantly adapt your thinking and develop your personal fishing skills and take risks with your fishing styles and approaches provides endless competitive edges that stuck in a rut carp anglers who follow fashions and the crowd miss all the time. The obvious answer to how to beat the herd is to be the first to do something different in terms of baits and methods; in making your own baits and developing your own approaches you always improve your chances ” permanently and you will be a true thinking angler and a genuine sharper carper!

Many anglers are concerned about making their own baits with no reason whatsoever; over the years I have caught big fish on well over 90 percent of my own experimental homemade baits and even the mistake ones always turn out to be excellent solutions for different fishing situations and challenges and when fished against competing ready made baits too! Mistakes in bait making are simply where the bait or results did not turn out as expected but the nature of such baits and there impacts on fish are priceless feedback that lead directly and very fast straight to awesome homemade baits for many more fishing situations and solve many problems many readymades do not address at all and the cost homemade baits always means you can over-boost with natural carp feeding triggers – which is a gigantic edge (see my unique bait making and bait design books at Baitbigfish for details and much more!)

Talking to average carp anglers on the bank just shows how much they are missing out on tremendously better catches if only they knew more about bait than references to their favourite flavours or brands; this it a tragedy because everyone can get better educated about bait design and exploitation and leverage bait to much greater effect than they ever previously imagined. Many anglers have heard of balanced or high nutrition baits or so-called food baits, and having the knowledge to be able improve the performances of all kinds of carp baits, from particles to pellets to boilies to ground baits etc by leveraging potent natural feeding triggers in particular is hugely beneficial to multiplying your catches! The digestibility of carp baits is very much an edge and most anglers know next to nothing about how this is achieved and why it is such a powerful advantage over fish and most competing baits in the long-term, producing the biggest fish that incidentally require the highest energy requirements repeatedly!

Flavours and the leverage of high levels of concentrated flavours for instance in hook baits is another option and many more talented and better-skilled carp anglers catch loads of big carp using these if only on a single-hook bait fishing approach. The most famous flavours need no mention here, but suffice to say, you can easily over-dose almost any bait with these flavours for great results (at least in the very short-term) on a variety of waters. Flavours vary enormously in their level of bioactive potency and the degree to which they stimulate the combined and individual senses of carp ” certain chilli extracts for instance will potentiate reactions that actually involve a pleasure ” from pain response; but please note that every carp bait ingredient has something about it carp detect if only in a few parts per million!

Carp are a product of the evolution of the food around them that provide the basic energy to survive ” fish utilise proteins and amino acids incredibly well for all purposes including energy compared to humans; how many carbohydrate foods can you think of in lakes, rivers, oceans (can you see why highly potent natural protein-related feeding triggers that carp are by definition most sensitive to are so vital in bait making!) The more you know about baits the better because you can double or treble your catches or simply avoid blank sessions; do you know the best squid extract, where to get it and how it works and even which companies employ it in their readymade baits and how to boost its levels correctly for awesome catches ” find out more in my ebooks! Even a bait-making beginner can immediately go out and start catching big fish on their own baits, for instance by boosting a very simply low value semolina bait with highly potent flavours, or some of the most potent soluble protein products or combine the advantages of these for example ” at a price that will save you thousands of pounds over the years, so see my unique ebooks at Baitbigfish right now and get catching more big fish and fulfil your carp fishing dreams!

PostHeaderIcon Canopy Tents Make Great Additions!

by Don Korte

There are additional enhancements you can add to your camping equipment and the canopy tent is one of the best. It offers additional protection from the elements of nature. Two types are available. One is the open sided canopy, just a top and the other has a screen sided canopy. This is also known as a screen tent or house

Tents with open sided canopies are great for table cover or perhaps as a cook station. This is especially convenient on rainy days and allows cooking and dining out of the rain. These tents (canopy) are free standing, making them versatile to any location of your choice.

There are no restrictions for a canopy tent such as a camping site. They can be used as a backyard camper, the beach, the park or wherever you find you may need shelter. These tents are also great for social events held outdoors.

The canopy tent with sides, also known as a screen tent, is a must have if your outdoor adventure takes you to those places where bug infestation is out-of-control. Those pesky bugs can wipe-out any sanity you have making your outdoor adventure less enjoyable.

There are two styles of screen tents. The first with a floor covering of the same material as the tent and the other has no floor, but with screened walls. Both of these tents offer good protection for natures pests. The choice is your personal preference.

A screen tent makes a good place for storage. This allows you the benefit of more room for you in your tent for relaxing or sleeping. These tents come in ten by ten feet or twelve by twelve feet. Allowing you an additional 100/144 square feet of sheltered area.

Both the canopy and screen tents are lightweight, simple to set up, portable and take one to two people to set them up. This depends, of course, on the type of tent that you purchase. A tent can be completely set up in about five minutes.

Now, however you enjoy your outdoor adventures, adding a canopy tent or a screen tent can and will increase your feelings of relaxation and enjoyment. You will feel more relaxed and at-ease knowing you have a place of refuge from those unexpected elements of nature that come your way. Giving you more enjoyment from your outdoor adventures, you just might find yourself spend more time in the great outdoors.

PostHeaderIcon Down Sleeping Bags Provide Superior Comfort And Warmth

by Sam Bradford

There have been many advances made in the area of sleeping bags, since the days when cowboys used bedrolls to sleep. Today many materials and designs, that are quite high tech are used to provide you with warmth even on the chilliest of nights. Below are some things you should think about when trying to find your next sleeping bag.

At one time or another you will be on an outdoor adventure and the weather turn cold especially at night. Keeping this in mind you will need to look for a sleeping bag that will be rated for the coldest of temperatures that you may be exposed to backpacking and camping. For your warm weather trips a sleeping bag rated with a +35 degree or even above will be good enough.

But if you do your camping in either the mountains during the summer months, or the fall or spring, you probably will need to get a sleeping bag that is rated in the range of +10 – +35. Of course you hearty winter campers should buy bags that are rated between -10 to +10 degree range, and then the alpine mountain climbers and cold weather explorers should get the bags with a rating of below -10.

These ratings are only approximate figures for warmth on these bags from the manufacturers. All people get at different levels of warmth when they sleep, no one is the same. Say you are one that likes a heavy blanket to sleep with, you may need a sleeping bag about 10 degrees higher than norm in rating. But what if you are constantly throwing the blankets off, you then may need a bag that is about 10 degrees lower in norm in rating.

The insulating material, used in a sleeping bag, is the most vital part of it. With today’s bags you have 2 materials to choose from: synthetic or goose down. Both of the materials do have their good points and bad points, while down bags are thought to be the best due to their ratio of warmth-to-bulk or the warmth-to-weight being so great.

Down is great for insulating, but it is also light and compresses easily. Now you know how the geese stay warm, and can fly even in the winter! Down is also known for being extremely durable and keeps on insulating for years and years.

But don’t sell the synthetic bags short though, the ones being sold today are very high quality and are still being improved upon. This type of bag is a bit heavier to carry weight wise, but has higher performance when wet than down does. Yes the one big con or negative point about down is that when it is wet it is no longer able to insulate you.

Definitely buy a synthetic for camping in damp conditions, you won’t be sorry. Also the synthetic is totally hypoallergenic, whereas many people can be allergic to the down. If you have little money to spend the synthetic is cheaper than the down is. Let your adventure begin!

PostHeaderIcon 3 Great two person tents

by Hasse Hansen

A two person tent is the most used tent. This tent is easy to handle and can be used by one person very comfortably. It is ideal for travel and for carrying around in a back pack. These tents are usually available at about three hundred dollars and a higher price means that they are taking more money from you.

Traditionally, a tent was just some fabric thrown over a few poles. These days the tent business has really grown into a huge business. The problem for buyers is that there is so much to choose from, and that all the tent companies claim that their tents are the best. In this article we will introduce you to a few of our favorites.

We can start with the Marmot Equinox, a tent that will cost you about $250 to buy. This tent has weight that is around six pounds and eleven ounces. As with just about everything else, the tent is available to buy online. If it were a few ounces less, it would surely be the best tent available.

The added weight is there for a reason however. The equinox has as much as forty square feet of floor space. It also has double doors, one in each end of the tent. In fact, it comes with a handy dog door that dog lovers would find very useful. Ventilation is also very good compared to other tents, and it is built in a way that makes it good in hard weather.

The next in line is the Sierra Designs Meteor Light tent that weighs about six pounds and ten ounces. It is the same as the Equinox in its shape and has a bid door with a vestibule at one end.

One of the best freestanding tents we have ever tested without a doubt. The tent has all the features that you can allow yourself to expect from it, including vertical walls with plenty mesh to make great ventilation. A rain fly is also included.

The last tent on our list of favorite two person tents is the Light Wedge 2, a tent that is produce by Mountain Hardwear. Actually this tent is a great deal for buyers, which only has to pay 225 dollars for this tent packed with accessories.

Of the three tents, this is the cheapest one. Not only that, it is also the lightest, weighing as much as a pound lesser than the two other tents. Five pounds and ten ounces is its match weight. The minus with this tent compared to the other tents is its floorspace.

PostHeaderIcon Solar Power For RV’s For Beginners

by Tim Fearey

Camper trailers, motor-homes and Recreational Vehicles are a popular way to escape civilization and head out into the wilderness for days at a time. People like the fact that they can have their cake and eat it too; outdoors nature paradise, with all the conveniences of modern life. One soon finds out that plumbing, microwaves and DVD players take a lot of power to run. Soon the batteries on the motor-home are discharged to a dangerously low state. The easiest way to fix this is to rely on the traditional gas powered generator to top up the electrical system by burning carbon fuel.

The problem with gasoline powered generators is that they tend to be darn noisy, and they cost money for fuel. Many people opt for silence, and want to use the power of the sun to charge their system. That is where RV solar panels come in. With a properly installed system of the right size, you will never run out of electricity.

RV solar panels can be hooked together in a series, which allows you produce as much power as you will need. Each rigid panel consists of many photo-voltaic cells, all fastened together in an array. The panels themselves are around 2 feet by 4 feet, and have ratings such as 120 watts or 80 watts. The cheapest are not always the best choice, as in most products.

Quite often, the panels are mounted on the roof and attached so that they can be raised to catch the light of the sun when in use. The disadvantage to these is that the reailer needs to be properly positioned so they face the correct way, and this is not always possible. A second method is to place the solar rv panels on stands on the ground, and run the wire over to the trailer. This way, as the sun moves the panels can be repositioned.

The sunlight gets converted to DC current, which flows down the wires to the charge controller. If the batteries are full, the charge controller won’t let any more power pass through and saves the batteries from being ruined by overcharging them. AS soon as the battery level drops, the controller allows current to flow through.

Deep cycle RV batteries are recommended to be used on all holiday trailers and RV’s. Standard car batteries aren’t meant to be recharged repeatedly and won’t last in a recreational vehicle system. If you need to add more batteries or replace your existing ones, make sure they are the correct kind.

You might want to include an inverter, to change twelve volt direct current into one hundred ten volt alternating current. You will need one of these if you plan on making microwave popcorn or running any other normal household appliances. Some motorhomes and holiday trailers have inverters built in.

If you are a do it yourself kind of guy, you can purchase all of the parts and read a how to guide online and install the whole thing yourself. The whole procedure is relatively simple. Otherwise, your local RV dealership will probably be able to supply the parts and install them for you.

PostHeaderIcon Lake George New York, A Great Place to Ride

by LJ James

As a Biker I love to take long Rides on my 2007 Harley Davidson, Nightrain. Some times a trip to Connecticut where one has the freedom of choice to decided if they want to wear a Helmet or not is a great place to go. Often I head up to the NY Catskill Mountains, Where a Burger and a Beer at Nicks Waterfall House in West Conesville can be the perfect end to a day of Cruising threw the Mountains.

Then there is another of my Favorite places to ride to, The Lake George NY area. My Uncle has a small Cabin in the Mountains right outside of the town of Lake George where I often stay. The area has some great long and winding roads for riding, These roads will relax even the most stressed Motorcycle rider.

There is so much history to the Lake George NY area. While on a trip one year riding around with no real destination in mind, I found myself in front of Fort Ticonderoga (fort-ticonderoga.org). Being very interested in American History I had to stop in and take the tour. The Fort was built between 1755 and 1759 and has plenty of stories to tell. It had a big roll in the American Revolution. As I walked around the Fort the I could almost imagine I had traveled back to the 18Th Century, The things I learned reminded me of the sacrifices our fore Fathers made to secure the Freedoms we enjoy and let slip threw our fingers every day.

Another thing I like to do is ride on some of the less traveled roads. Riding on a road where you see nothing but Forests and small Waterfalls for miles is very relaxing. I like to search out small little Dinners and eatery’s, Stopping at them and trying some of the foods they have to offer.

I recently met up with my Mother, Sister, Brother, Nieces, Nephew and other members of my family at the Lake George Escape Evergreen Resort Campgrounds (LakeGeorgeEscape.com), I found it a great places for me to relax for a few days. There where plenty of activities for the kids and many activities I could enjoy with the kids. In the resorts game room I won my Nieces and Nephew many prizes and I played (or maybe Battled is a more accurate word) Air Hockey with my younger Brother in the game room for hours. The resort has a pond and two pools to Swim in. Each week at the resort during the Summer has a thyme and while we where there it was Halloween week. The Camp Grounds has Nightly Hay rides around the Camp Grounds and since it was Halloween week my Brother came up with the idea of throwing out candy to all the kids as we took a Hay ride around the grounds one night. The Cherry on the top of this great resort has to be the on Grounds full service Tiki style Bar where most Nights they had a DJ to help keep the party going!

Many other things I have stopped to enjoy while riding around and staying in the Lake George area is White Water rafting, Hiking and many Trips to Six Flags Great Escape & Splash Water Kingdom. The park was known as Storytown USA when it first opened in 1954. As a Kid I used to love to watch the gun fights in its old western area known as Ghost town. The park may be much larger now and have many modern day Rides and attractions, but all the old Story town, Jungleland and Ghost town areas from the 50′s and 60s are still there! Then of course there is the town of Lake George it self with many great stores for shopping including a new shop I found last year called DILLIGAF’s. Many Arcades, Museum’s, Para Sailing, Night Clubs and Many Places to eat including some Waterfront Restaurants. Now in my opinion no trip to Lake George can be Complete without a Paddle wheel Cruise on the historic and scenic Lake George itself. The lake is known as the Queen of American Lakes. There are Two maybe three Companies you can use, But I recommend you take your trip on the Lake George Steamboat Company’s (lakegeorgesteamboat.com) Minnie-Ha-Ha. I have Pictures of me getting on this Boat with my Family that go back many years.

As Bikers We are always looking for Great places to ride to alone or with our friends and family that offer both great riding areas and many things to do. I have found Lake George to be a great area for both!
